The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will commence inquiries into the 2018 Supplementary Appropriation Bill 2019 & 2019 Supplementary Appropriation Bill 2019 as of today 28th August 2019.
The 2019 Appropriation Bill seeks to appropriate an additional One hundred and forty five million, two hundred and fifty one thousand and thirty three dollars ($145 251 033) to the service of the year ending 31st December 2019 for the following government ministries.
Ministry of Finance and Treasury; Ministry of Infrastructure Development; Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development; Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services; Ministry of Health and Medical Services; Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade; Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet; Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs National Judiciary; Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology; Office of the Governor General; Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources; Ministry of Women, Youth and Children’s Affairs and the Ministry of Rural Development.
The following government ministries will be called to appear before PAC for the 2018 Supplementary Appropriation Bill 2019:
Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services, Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster and Meteorology and the National Parliament Office. Ministry of Finance and Treasury and the Central Bank of Solomon Islands.
The inquiries starts today Wednesday 28th August 2019 – 6th September 2019 at the National Parliament House.
A hearing schedule will be delivered to each Ministry and government departments, however, it is subject to any change that may arise.
